Olympic champion - Jean-Claude Killy
Presentation
"King Killy"
- Discipline: alpine ski
- Prize: three-time gold medalist at the Grenoble 1968 Olympic Games in Chamrousse
- Fun fact: Jean-Claude Killy, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) work for the return of the Olympic Games in France
Jean-Claude Killy enjoyed his greatest moments of glory during the 1968 Winter Olympic Games and owes his great popularity to his prowess during the various alpine ski races on the slopes of Chamrousse, a ski resort in Grenoble.
It was not as expected, a medal won but three gold medals won and four world titles. Races honored by our French riders since only 8 hundredths of a second separated his time from his fellow Guy Périllat.
Thus Jean-Claude Killy says "King Killy" enters the legend by winning 3 gold medals in the events of "Descent", "Giant Slalom" and "Special Slalom" which took place on the tracks of Casserousse and Olympique Hommes (station side Chamrousse 1650 - Recoin).

Following this victorious participation in the Olympics on the slopes of Chamrousse and legion of Honor award from the President of the French Republic, he retired from sports to devote himself to his other passions such as cinema and motor racing.
So far in 2021, his personal record has only been equaled by our “National Martin Fourcade” in biathlon (discipline combining cross-country skiing and rifle shooting).
He was invited as one of the guests of honor during the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the 1968 Olympic Games in Chamrousse and Grenoble in 2018.
