A very nice conviviality was created during the Grenoble Olympic Games and around their ski champions, like the French Marielle Goitschel.
The one who holds the highest records of the French Women’s Alpine skiing history, also won the gold medal in the special slalom discipline, in front of the French president at that time Georges Pompidou and also in front of enthusiastic spectators; but for the first time, people could also watch the competition on TV.

These 1968 Olympic Games on the Chamrousse ski slope have been the consecration of her professional career in skiing. Indeed, only at the age of 23, Marielle Goitschel had already won 2 Olympics titles and 7 world cup victories.
She has since been awarded Officer of the Legion of Honor and the National Order of Merit.

In 2018, Marielle Goistchel was the guest of honor for the festivities of the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in Chamrousse and her slalom skis was exposed at the Dauphinois Museum of Grenoble during the exhibition celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the 1968 Olympic Games.
