Ninon has been skating in a club in Grenoble since she was 5 years old and has lived in Chamrousse for over 10 years.
She has been studying at the CNED (Centre National d'Enseignement à Distance) since the 6th grade and trains at the ice rink about 25 hours a week. To do this, she wakes up every day at 5.30am to be on the ice at 6.45am.
Figure skating, or ice dancing, is a sport combining acrobatics and precision of movement. It is practiced individually or in pairs. Figures, such as jumps and spins, are highly recognisable and punctuate the choreography.
The competitions take place over two events. The technical elements of the two programmes are awarded points according to the difficulty and quality of their execution. An artistic score is also awarded to highlight the skaters' qualities of gliding, expression and interpretation of the music. The skater with the highest number of points wins!
Our young ice skater won a magnificent 4th place with 6 triple jumps in her free programme at the 2023 French Junior Championship.
