Presentation
Chamrousse and Vaulnaveys-le-Haut are joining forces to bring you a wild summer version of the race: the Chamrousse MTB Derby on Saturday July 29 and Sunday July 30, 2023, as part of the Trophée Enduro des Alpes.
The Chamrousse MTB Derby is one of the stages of the "Trophée Enduro des Alpes". This enduro mountain bike circuit brings together several stages in the direct vicinity of Grenoble, with one stage for each massif: Belledonne, Vercors and Taillefer.
Program
Saturday:
- 5 enduro special stages at the Chamrousse Bike Park and magnificent special stages in the Seiglières sector: 29 km distance with 2050 m of D- and 1100 m of D+ on the pedals.
- Afterparty in front of the Chamrousse 1650 Tourist Office from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm: stickers for the next day's starting waves, unofficial qualifying race podium, DJ and take-away beers from nearby bars.
Sunday:
Mass start from the top of the resort's ski area at Croix de Chamrousse, then 13 km, 100 m D+ and 1900 m D- non-stop and finish at Parc d'Uriage. The 1st down wins!
There are several (small) uphill sections on the route, so you'll need a combination of technical ability and physical fitness to win this magnificent derby.
The event is intended to be festive and friendly, and is open to everyone aged 16 and over, and to those aged 14 and over who are licensed to ride mountain bikes in competition.
⚠ MTB area reserved for competition MTB Derby from 9am to 11am (sale of pedestrian pass only). Opening of the Bike Park to the general public from 11 a.m.: sales of mountain bike passes only at the cash desk (no online sales on the 2 days).
Reminder: Saturday D111 road closed from 10am to 4pm between Les Seiglières and Chamrousse 1650 - Recoin (resort access still possible via the departmental road on the Luitel side, and access to the marshes + Les Seiglières inn maintained). During this period, the T87 bus will exceptionally take the route de Prémol and the Estibus 707 will be cancelled.
A shuttle service (renting buses, trailers and trucks) has been set up by the organization to take drivers back to their cars at the Chamrousse resort on Saturday afternoon after qualifying and on Sunday after the derby.
This non-compulsory shuttle service is offered at €10 per rotation. It is entirely possible for drivers to make their own arrangements to return to the resort after each day.
