In summary

Chamrousse is a trail resort in the Belledonne massif, 30 km from Grenoble, and is the venue for the famous "Échappée belle" and "Ut4M" trails. It is also an Olympic resort, and was the venue for the 1968 Grenoble Olympics downhill skiing events.
More than 80 km of running trails and 13 running trail courses with rather technical itineraries, playground of the Grenoble inhabitants between forest and mountain (is between the alpine and sub-alpine levels).

Renowned for its lakes, Achard and Robert, the possibility of meeting ibexes and admiring incredible sunsets, in particular from the summit of the resort, the Croix de Chamrousse at 2250 metres altitude with a panoramic view of the Grenoble valley not to be missed, from the "Oisans" and "Belledonne" lookouts as well as the "Grésivaudan" rooftop.
It is also the crossing of the GR 738, the "Haute traversée de Belledonne", towards La Pra and its mountain refuge (caution: presence of "patous", dogs protecting the herds).

A lively resort in winter and summer, but ideal in spring and autumn far from the crowds (but with few shops open), with the "Flocon Vert" (sustainable development commitment) and "Famille Plus" (family commitment) labels.
Chamrousse also offers mountain biking, cycling in summer and ski touring in winter, to be discovered on "On Piste", the website onpiste.com and the mobile application.
