Lecture by Christine Julien (historian and former head of the Musée Arcabas en Chartreuse) on the work of Arcabas in Isère and in particular at the Eglise du Saint-Esprit in Chamrousse.

Jean-Marie Pirot, better known as Arcabas, is a French painter and sculptor renowned in France and abroad, not least for his extensive output of contemporary sacred art, particularly in churches in Isère.

While Arcabas' work on the church of Saint-Hugues en Chartreuse remains fundamental, it should not overshadow his collaborations with twentieth-century architects in the rest of Isère.
