(Re)discover Chamrousse in a different way thanks to 5 themed orienteering trails, with questions for different levels, on the different resort hubs: when physical activity combines with the discovery of cultural and natural heritage!
A fun, interactive walk accessible via smartphone:
1) scan the QR code
2) access the parcours-orientation.fr web application (no application download required)
3) choose the route
4) follow the itinerary and discover various points of interest
At each stage, you'll need to find a small QR code plate installed near the point of interest. Once scanned with the application's internal reader, the QR code displays the thematic content (fauna, flora, history, heritage...) and a fun question to answer. Bonus: for each point of interest, there's an easy question for children and a more complicated one to challenge adults.
5 themed trails:
- History at Chamrousse 1650 - Recoin (2.5 km and 150 m D+ / family public / discovery of Chamrousse's past and development): tourist office, Olympic Games, Maison de l'Environnement, old cable car, Chapel Recoin...
- Heritage and architecture at Chamrousse 1750 - Roche Béranger and Chamrousse 1700 - Bachat Bouloud (3.5 km and 120 m D+ / family-friendly / architectural and cultural heritage): church - ecumenical center, architect Pierre Jomain, Père Tasse, Renouveau vacation center...
- Nature and environment in Chamrousse 1600 - Plateau de l'Arselle (3.5 km and 70 m D+ / family-friendly / natural environment, fauna & flora): peat bog, protected site, cembro pine, cottongrass, dragonfly, sphagnum moss, drosera, bat, ant...
- Faune à Chamrousse 2250 - Croix de Chamrousse (2 km and 60 m D+ / family public / panorama, easy access, mountain animal theme): fox, hare, black grouse, ibex, wolf, squirrel, marmot... (course available except in winter)
- Not-to-be-missed Wahou Spots (12 km and 700 m D+ / sporty and regular hikers / full day, passing through Lac Achard and Lac Robert, exceptional panorama): lakes and Chamrousse mountain pass (route available except in winter).
Practical information:
- QR codes are not directly visible: they are fixed on small plates to be located near points of interest, adding a treasure hunt aspect.
- Equipment required: for the first 4 routes: a smartphone with internet connection at the start (application then in offline mode), closed-toe shoes, water / For the "Wahou" route: full hiking equipment (suitable shoes
clothing according to the weather, water + food, first-aid kit).
- Liability: participants are responsible for their own actions.
- Approximate duration: classic trail: approx. 2h; Wahou trail: 5h to 7h (full day).
