Presentation

Scientific eco-volunteering weekend departing from Chamrousse. At Lacs Robert (2,225 m), set up recorders, analyze the sounds and learn to identify bats and birds by their ultrasound. In partnership with Biophonia.
For three days, you’ll join a participatory scientific expedition in the Belledonne Mountains, at the Lacs Robert (2,225 m above sea level), led by science communicators and specialists from Biophonia.
The goal: to contribute to a comprehensive research protocol on alpine acoustic biodiversity in the context of climate change.
On the agenda:

Installing autonomous recorders (AudioMoth) in various habitats
Active listening and species identification by sound (birds, bats, insects)
Analyzing audio data on a computer using Kaleidoscope Pro software
Introduction to automatic species detection algorithms
Meeting with a park ranger and discussion about careers in the life sciences

The trip is all-inclusive (tent accommodation, meals, supervision, scientific equipment). No prior scientific experience required.

    The financial contribution to shipping costs is structured in two separate instalments. The research contribution of €350 entitles you to a 66% tax rebate. The total cost after tax deduction is 354€.
