We will discover Chamrousse, guided by its 500 million years of geological history. By going to the most remarkable sites we will be able to better understand how the landscape was formed and its influence on humans and flora.
Chamrousse is rich in a particular geology: its ophiolitic complex (a piece of oceanic crust raised in altitude), its evaporatitic rocks (the carigneules), eruptive rocks (spilites), the whole has been modeled by tectonics, glaciations, erosion. It is the passage of time and the influence of the climate that we can read in the rock!

This hike will takes us from curiosities to panoramas. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the formation of the Alps and mountains in Grenoble's region. On the way in which the relief has marked the memory and history of men and on the flora related to this particular environment.

At the end of the hike, we will arrive at the Croix de Chamrousse, the highest point of the resort. People who would like to enjoy a gondola ride can do so by purchasing a ticket before departure. The rest of the group can go down with the mountain guide on the slopes until the start.
