A look back at the 2025–2026 winter season in Chamrousse: a bountiful and lively season


The 2025–2026 winter season was marked by incredible energy in Chamrousse. Kicking off on 6 December 2025, the season got off to a flying start with a very busy December thanks to the festive period. Overlooking Grenoble, the resort enjoyed excellent snow cover thanks to the recent snowfall in April, which gave the ski area a magnificent fresh blanket of snow, with nearly 200 cm still at the summit of the Croix de Chamrousse as the season drew to a close

Across the ski area, the atmosphere was electric with the famous Mix Sunset events – those DJ sets set against sunsets that never fail to captivate. The strength of this winter lay in its diversity: from night skiing for the more adventurous to the tranquillity of the Nordic Park on the Plateau de l’Arselle for cross-country skiing, or snowshoe treks towards Lac Achard, there was something for everyone.

March was a particularly emotional month with the historic return of the Paralympic flag on 16 March. This event brought together athletes returning from Milan-Cortina 2026, celebrating the spirit of sport before passing the baton to the French Alps for 2030. With these excellent weather conditions at the end of the season, Chamrousse has confirmed its status as a privileged natural setting, where the proximity and quality of the snow continue to attract just as many enthusiasts.
