Presentation
Long-distance skiing lover
- Discipline: cross-country skiing
- Sports Federation: French Ski Federation (FFS)
- Club: Ski Nordique Belledonne Chamrousse (SNBC)
- Prize: 23rd at the French U20 Championships in 2022, with 3 top 18 finishes in the French Cup
- Fun fact: founder of the "Team Astragale", named after the longest cross-country ski run in the Chamrousse Nordic area
Basile started cross-country skiing in a club in Chamrousse in 2014, and before that, he discovered the discipline for the first time during a school outing at the Arselle plateau, precisely the Nordic area of Chamrousse.
When he started nordic skiing, there was one race that convinced him that he wanted this sport to be an important part of his life: the French Club Championships. Moreover, in 2023, they will take place in Chamrousse, and he intends to take his team as high as possible so that it will be the most beautiful memory for many of us!
In cross-country skiing, there are two different styles of skiing: the classic technique and the skating technique (free technique), which appeared in the 1980s and is considered the new style of cross-country skiing. This technique is faster and allows for more dynamic and aesthetic movements.
Cross-country skiing competitions are organised with several disciplines: sprint, team sprint, individual start over 15 km, pursuit over 30 km, line start over 50 km and 4x10 km relay. Basile is particularly fond of long-distance cross-country skiing.
In 2022, he joined the "Dauphiné" Committee and began to touch his dreams with his fingertips.
Chamrousse is also a land of Nordic skiing with values that cross-country skiing carries loud and clear.
Basile is keen to share his passion for cross-country skiing and all the sports he uses to prepare himself, and also to highlight all the people who help him achieve his goals, all in the magnificent mountainous setting of Chamrousse and the Alps!
