Road-cycling route: Chamrousse ascent from Uriage
Start from Uriage-les-Bains, a spa resort with 19th-century architecture typical of spa towns. This route climbs gradually around long curves to Chamrousse resort overlooking Grenoble and the valley.
From Uriage-les-Bains, head towards Vaulnaveys. Turn left at the golf course, then right onto the D111.
Climb up to the Chartreuse de Prémol, pass by a small lake then head for Chamrousse on the D111.
On arrival in Chamrousse near Roche Béranger - Chamrousse 1750, the route detours to Col de Chamrousse, the highest point of the ride at 1,795 m.
Head back down to Saint-Martin-d'Uriage via Les Bonnets, then turn left to return to the starting point.
This route passes through widely diverse natural environments and landscapes with fields, conifer forests and peat bogs, to finish at the foot of the high peaks of Belledonne massif.
