GR®738 hike - From Chamrousse to La Pra mountain refuge (step 10)
One of the most beautiful hikes in Chamrousse, reaching the doors of high mountains. You could leave and dicover the magnificient lakes, from its wild fauna to alpine pastures.
Departure: Tourist Office of Chamrousse 1650 - Recoin.
Passing through the Pourettes lake and the Robert lakes by Brêche Nord.
Arrival: La Pra mountain refuge at 2109m high.
Within a few minutes, you will overlook the resort and discover the outstanding view of the Vercors mountain range. Meet the shepherd and the flock on Recoin pasture before entering the Swiss pine area of Chamrousse. Between forests, meadows, wetlands and bilberry mats, you will be charmed by this magnificent walk. The small Pourettes lake or the Robert lakes are recommended to make a stop.
Pets allowed: dogs are allowed in the summer on all trails on a leash. The shepherd who works in Chamrousse in the summer has no Pyrenean Mountain Dog but in the direction of the Pra refuge caution herds with Pyrenean Mountain Dog named "patous" dogs.

❌Prohibited: fire (except camping stove) and bivouac under the La Pra refuge (from July, 15th to August, 31th) and around the Claret and Merlat lakes (all year)
✔️Authorised: bivouac from sunset to sunrise (outside the refuge area, Claret and Merlat lakes) / Advised: hiking on developed paths and dog on a lead, especially near herds with patous (protection and defence dogs).
